Capestorm 250C – Sleeping Bag

The Capestorm 250C sleeping bag, has been a great addition to my gear. It has an excellent temperature rating, is super comfortable and not nearly as pricy as one would expect, making it ideal for beginners or hikers on a budget.

This bag is filled with 250gm2 of Firecore hollow fibre (synthetic) insulation that ensures you stay warm and comfortable in temperature as low as -2 degrees Celsius (However, I’ve slept comfortably and warm at -5 degrees Celsius  next to the river). The 190T Ripstop Polyester shell and soft 75D Brushed Polyester inner will protect you from the elements, keep the warm air trapped inside and keep you snug throughout the night.

This sleeping bag also comes with a cowl to keep your head warm when it’s needed the most (but I prefer to use my cowl as a pillow holder).  Furthermore the bag has two separate zips that allow you to vent your body while keeping the foot box closed, or you can vent your feet while keeping your body warm.

The sleeping bag comes with a basic stuff sack, but to save space you’ll need to get a compression sack.

The generous size of  220cm x 80cm and weight of 1.83kg made this the ideal sleeping bag for me as I’m a side/stomach sleeper and I prefer a spacious foot box and some wiggle room when confined to a sleeping bag.
